Heya! My name is Elaina Root and I'm a student at Columbia College Chicago. I'm on track to get a Bachelor's Degree in Traditional Animation, and the journey here has allowed me to work on a shared short film amongst my classmates while figuring out my love for background art.

I found myself on this journey from my time in the International Baccalaureate program at my high school. I took a 2 year long IB Film course and did an independent dive into animation film history and small practice in its basics, creating a newfound love for the process of media I already enjoyed. I delved into it and sought out a future in animation to develop my skills and do work that I truly enjoy. 

My skills have been developed for story making in various medias and crafts within. Even if my strongest forms are in my backgrounds, my capabilities extend to writing and editing.

Beyond my work, I love playing table top RPGs, writing short stories, and editing video game clips!
